This Privacy Policy explains how My OT Life ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our Toronto events and activities app and website (the "Service"). We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, and the content you send through our forms (event submissions, photos, videos, messages).
  • Usage data: anonymous statistics such as pages viewed, device type, operating system, app version and approximate usage time, collected to improve the Service.
  • Location: only if you allow it on your device, to show activities and events near you on the map. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
  • Camera and photo library: only when you choose to scan a QR code or attach a photo or video to a submission.
  • Push notification token: if you accept notifications, so we can send you event selections and news.

2. How we use your information

  • To publish and promote the events and content you submit;
  • To answer your messages;
  • To send push notifications you have agreed to receive;
  • To measure audience and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Affiliate links and third parties

When you click an affiliate link (such as Fever, GetYourGuide, Stay22 or Booking partners), you leave our Service and the third party may use cookies or similar technologies to track the referral and process your purchase. Their own privacy policies apply. Our app is built on the GoodBarber platform, which hosts our data and provides statistics and push notification services on our behalf.

4. Retention

We keep form submissions and messages only as long as needed to process them and for our records, and statistics in aggregated form.

5. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent to notifications or location access. To do so, contact us using the details below.

6. Children

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version is always available in the app.
